The problem

One changed bank account is all it takes

Payment redirection and business email compromise target the moment a supplier's bank details change. A convincing email, often from a compromised or look-alike supplier address, asks accounts payable to update the account. The next payment run goes to the fraudster, and it is usually discovered only when the real supplier chases an unpaid invoice.

  1. A "supplier" asks to change bank detailsAn urgent email or new remittance letter that looks routine: new bank, new account, same invoice.
  2. The change slips into the vendor masterManual call-backs get skipped under time pressure, and the payment file is built from the updated record.
  3. The money goes to the wrong accountOnce a payment has been released, recovering it can be slow and uncertain. Prevention has to happen before release.
How it works

A check that fits between building the payment run and releasing it

No change to how you pay suppliers. PayeeGate reviews the run you already produce, before it goes to your bank.

  1. Load your vendor library & payment run

Open your vendor master export and the payment file or register from your ERP or banking platform. Files are read in your browser.

  2. Automatic checks run

Each payee is checked against official business registers, the BSB directory, sanctions lists and your own validated vendors.

  3. Review flagged payees

Clear results are marked verified. Anything that doesn't match, such as changed bank details, is highlighted with the reason.

  4. Release with an audit report

Once issues are resolved, release the payment through your usual process and keep a dated report of what was checked and by whom.

The checks

Every payee, checked several ways

Independent checks against authoritative sources and your own records, so one weak signal doesn't decide the outcome.

ABN verification

Confirms the supplier's ABN is valid and active, and that the registered entity name matches who you think you're paying.

Australian Business Register

NZBN verification

The same check for New Zealand suppliers: NZBN status and registered name.

NZ Business Register

BSB validation

Checks each BSB exists and identifies the bank and branch, using the official directory synced daily.

AusPayNet BSB directory

Account-name check - coming soon

Coming soon: will ask whether the name on the receiving bank account matches the supplier's name, and report a match, partial match or no match.

Coming soon

Sanctions screening

Screens supplier names against the Australian consolidated sanctions list.

DFAT Consolidated List

Vendor library cross-check

Matches each payee to your vendor master by ERP vendor ID (for example a SAP vendor number), ABN and bank details, so payees who aren't in your records stand out.

Your vendor records

Bank-detail change detection

Flags any payee whose BSB or account number differs from the details held in your vendor library. This is the classic sign of payment redirection.

Security & data handling

Designed to keep your payment data with you

PayeeGate is a verification tool. It does not connect to your bank, hold funds or make payments.

Files stay in your browser

Supplier lists, vendor masters and payment files are opened and processed in your browser. They are never uploaded to our server.

Minimum data, encrypted

Only the identifiers a check needs, such as an ABN, NZBN or BSB, are sent to our server, always over encrypted connections.

API keys held centrally

Credentials for the register and verification services are held on the server. They are never issued to, or stored with, individual users.

Licensed accounts with 2FA

Each user has their own licensed, named account, protected by a password and an authenticator app (2-factor authentication).

Audit trail

Sign-ins, account changes and verification activity are logged, and each review can produce an audit report for your records.

Australian hosting region

The PayeeGate service is hosted in an Australian region.
